Symmetric Recruitment Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Inspector to oversee the daily operations of their inspection department. As a Chief Inspector, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the quality assurance and control systems, ensuring that all products meet stringent quality and dimensional requirements.
About the Role:
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Quality Assurance Specialist who excels in training others and has a strong background in customer-facing roles. As the Chief Inspector, you will be responsible for monitoring and improving the quality systems, reporting their effectiveness to the Senior Management team, and ensuring compliance with customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality System Management: Ensure company quality systems are adhered to at all times, and assist the Quality Manager in maintaining and promoting quality systems and continuous improvement.
- Inspection Oversight: Oversee inspection staff to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations, and perform final inspections on items leaving the factory, including verification of route record operations.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and review Non-conformance Reports, FAIRS, DARs, Concessions, Waivers, and Final Inspection Reports, and create and maintain calibration records within the IFS ERP System.
- Collaboration and Communication: Liaise with outside inspectors and auditors, and create product passports and quality instructions.
- Quality Monitoring: Monitor quality-related shop floor activities, and record returned and reworked items on non-conformances.
Candidate Profile:
We are looking for a candidate with a relevant degree in engineering or a related field, and proven industry experience in quality inspection, preferably within aerospace. A working knowledge and practical experience with CMM and Faro arm, as well as experience with IFS (ERP) or similar systems, are also essential. A strong understanding of ISO9001:2015 and non-conformance reporting is required.
