About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join our growing team at Meridian Business Support, based in our Andover office.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the development of our procurement team, mentoring new managers, and overseeing procurement processes to ensure seamless operations and high-quality standards. Key responsibilities include managing supplier credit limits, updating and maintaining approved supplier lists, and overseeing daily procurement team operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage supplier credit limits to support uninterrupted growth and operational efficiency
  • Update and maintain approved supplier lists with tiered suppliers to ensure compliance with organizational standards
  • Oversee daily procurement team operations, including meticulous planning for deliveries and logistics to meet project requirements
  • Assist the Commercial Director in negotiating and updating supply chain terms, supporting deals, and managing direct rebates to achieve business objectives
  • Monitor, develop, and refine KPIs to uphold quality and efficiency standards, ensuring seamless operations and cost-effectiveness
  • Implement and oversee procurement procedures and controls to ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements
  • Strategically manage materials supply chains for operational efficiency and to secure uninterrupted supply
  • Develop a procurement schedule for long-term contracts to secure uninterrupted supply and meet business needs
  • Provide detailed weekly reports for senior management on key performance indicators, supply chain status, and other relevant metrics
  • Engage local suppliers to align with project requirements and provide value-added services to customers
  • Support onboarding for new sub-contractors and suppliers, ensuring smooth integration into existing procurement processes
  • Update cash flow forecasts based on trends and committed work to inform business decisions and optimize resource allocation
  • Lead dispute resolution efforts involving internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently and effectively
  • Utilize the Protean suite to generate reports for commercial and procurement departments, providing insights to inform business decisions and drive growth
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working in an operational procurement role, preferably within the M&E or Housing sectors
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with a preference for Access experience to analyze and present data effectively
  • Able to identify sourcing initiatives and implement procurement policies and processes to drive efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to performance manage suppliers to achieve business objectives
  • Excellent communication skills at various levels, including stakeholder engagement and presentations
  • Influencing skills to work effectively with other managers and stakeholders to achieve common goals
  • High personal integrity and commitment to upholding organizational values and standards
  • Able to manage, coach, and develop team members to enhance their skills and performance
