About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our UK Healthcare Team. As a Design Structural Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the growth of our team and working on projects in London and South East England.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working as part of a team of Structural Engineers to design and develop structural engineering concepts and design philosophies
  • Raising the profile and reputation of the UK Healthcare Team
  • Developing and overseeing structural engineering concepts and design philosophies
  • Carrying out structural design, analysis and FEM modelling
  • Liaising with clients and collaborators, representing Ramboll at project meetings
  • Communicating designs to team members and construction sites
  • Completing detailed designs to required standards and supervising work of graduate engineers and apprentices
  • Completing design calculations using industry standard software, such as Revit
  • Implementing best practice procedures to enhance and maintain delivery of sustainable, zero carbon, innovative and quality advisory and design services
  • Visiting sites to support development of structural engineering designs or review contract works in progress
  • Taking an active role in technical groups and team meetings to support continuous improvement
  • Taking ownership and delivering on team improvement initiatives
  • If applicable, joining Ramboll's ICE or IStructE training scheme and making demonstrable progress towards chartership (if not already chartered)

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Structural Engineer with a strong background in the UK Healthcare sector. You will have a degree in a relevant engineering discipline and be able to demonstrate a high level of technical expertise.

You will be able to design reinforced concrete, steel and/or timber and have experience of digital and parametric design. You will also have knowledge of assessment, retrofit and alteration of existing structures and construction supervision, building investigation and structural testing.

You will be a strong communicator capable of explaining complex technical concepts in plain language, verbally and in writing. You will also be able to demonstrate good attention to detail and pride in work produced.
