System Safety Specialist

We are seeking a System Safety Specialist to join our Safety Risk Management (SRM) team. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of mission-critical projects, carrying out safety and reliability analyses and safety risk assessment activities across a range of industry sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of safety and reliability plans for mission-critical projects
  • Conduct safety and reliability analyses, including Hazard Identification (HAZID) and Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) workshops
  • Develop project hazard records and safety assurance documentation
  • Undertake Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and Fault Tree Analysis / Event Tree Analysis
  • Develop Engineering Safety arguments and justifications in support of design changes
  • Undertake Reliability Assessments and prepare Reliability Availability and Maintainability (RAM) Plans
  • Perform Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) and consequence analysis

Requirements:

  • Experience in System Safety and Reliability / Risk within a mission-critical industry
  • Knowledge of Engineering Safety Management and experience of applying the Common Safety Method (CSM)
  • Working knowledge of Reliability Block Diagrams, Fault Trees and Event Trees
  • Working knowledge of Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA)
  • Ability to work across different time zones and as part of a diverse team internationally

Desirable:

  • Ability to read electrical schematic block diagrams and engineering drawings
  • Use of the Isograph Reliability Workbench or similar software applications
  • Experience of working across more than one mission-critical industry
