Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Global Payroll Leader to join our team at Booking. As the Head of Global Payroll Operations, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and governing the global payroll operating model, strategy, and service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement global payroll operating models, strategies, and governance frameworks to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
  • Lead a team of 35 people spanning across 65 countries, 97 entities, and 4 business units, providing guidance and direction to ensure successful payroll operations.
  • Manage payroll technology adoption, including Workday and SAP/S4 HANA, and ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Design and implement vendor selection, governance, and SLAs to ensure best-in-class solutions and technologies.
  • Ensure SOX compliance and maintain a strong control environment.
  • Develop and implement change and project management strategies to drive payroll process improvements.
  • Manage payroll-related HR operations, including employee onboarding, offboarding, and benefits administration.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in managing end-to-end payroll processes within a large organization, preferably in a Shared Service Center (SSC) model.
  • 6+ years of experience in a leadership role managing large teams, including managing managers.
  • Proven track record of designing operating models and rollouts, managing stakeholders across various levels.
  • Strong record of tech and vendor adoption and management.
  • Experience in leading HR services (next to payroll) is an asset.
  • Outstanding communication and storytelling skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced and complex environment.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Process design thinking.
