Job Title: Press Operator No 2

We are seeking a skilled Press Operator No 2 to join our team at Reach plc. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our printing presses, maintaining high-quality print outputs, and adhering to our company's values and policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain the No 2 press, ensuring optimal performance and quality output.
  • Manage and operate the reelstand efficiently, ensuring smooth production flow.
  • Make necessary adjustments to the control panel to optimize performance.
  • Grasp the intricacies of impositions to ensure accurate print layouts and quality.
  • Handle the plating and de-plating process with precision for seamless transitions.
  • Prepare and configure the press for each job, ensuring all presets are correctly applied.
  • Fine-tune folder settings for optimal output and quality.
  • Efficiently restart the press and produce high-quality copies even from hot starts.
  • Ensure web tensions are correctly set and maintained for consistent print quality.
  • Keep a keen eye on maintaining the perfect ink and water balance for vibrant prints.
  • Continuously monitor print quality, making necessary adjustments to register controls for precise results.
  • Execute all responsibilities related to Remedial and Calibration with diligence.
Requirements:
  • Experience in Press Operations to No 2 level.
  • An NVQ Level 2 in press operations is desirable but not essential.
  • Drive and commitment with an ability to work shifts.
  • Excellent communication skills verbal/written/practical.
  • Team player with the ability to lead a team.
  • A good awareness of HSE standards and regulations.
  • Be attentive to detail and focused on quality.
  • Computer literate.
  • An understanding of manufacturing best practice and lean principles and tools – Desirable.
