Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our client's team in an alternative provision. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with young people, supporting their educational and personal development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in delivering high-quality education and ensuring a positive learning environment for all students
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students
  • Help create a safe and engaging classroom environment
  • Support students with special educational needs and behavioural challenges
  • Assist with classroom management and provide strong behavioural support
  • Prepare learning materials and resources
  • Supervise students during break times and school activities
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role with SEND/SEMH/behaviour is highly desirable
  • A passion for working with young people and supporting their educational journey
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the school
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
  • A DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one
  • Degrees such as Psychology and Criminology are of interest in SEMH (mental health) but not essential
