Job Title: Residential Childcare Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team at Polaris Community. As a key member of our residential homes, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to young people with challenging behaviour.

Job Summary

This is a permanent role with excellent career prospects and a comprehensive training programme. You will work on average 38 hours per week, with a 2 days on and 4 days off shift pattern, including 2 sleep-ins. You will be eligible for generous allowances for bank holidays, overtime hours, and a performance-related bonus scheme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualised care and support to young people with challenging behaviour
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a safe and supportive living environment
  • Develop and implement care plans to meet the needs of young people
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of young people's progress and well-being
  • Engage and motivate young people to participate in activities and achieve their goals
Requirements
  • Full manual driving license
  • Ability to work on own initiative and maintain clear, neat records
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Empathetic nature and ability to engage with young people
  • Good oral and written communication skills
Desirable Skills
  • Previous experience of working with young people
  • Willingness to work towards a fully funded qualification in level 3 Children and Young People
