Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to our Ophthalmology Department.

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare clinical areas for patient consultations and procedures
  • Discuss clinical imaging procedures with patients and obtain consent
  • Perform investigational and diagnostic procedures as trained and competent
  • Assist with ophthalmic treatments and procedures
  • Contribute to the effective day-to-day running of the department

Requirements

  • Current valid driving license
  • GCSE grade C or equivalent in key skills level 2 or functional skills level 2 numeracy and literacy
  • Computer literate with basic ECDL skills
  • Experience of working with people who have a visual impairment
  • Experience working in an acute hospital setting or community knowledge of speciality
