Product Manufacturing Engineer Job Description

Jonathan Lee Recruitment is seeking a skilled Product Manufacturing Engineer to join a subcontract precision engineering machining company operating in the automotive and motorsport industry. The ideal candidate will have experience in product manufacturing, engineering, and process improvement, with a strong understanding of CAD/CAM, CNC machining, and technical drawings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the introduction of new products and processes
  • Liaise with suppliers for sub-contract processing
  • Support costing of new work
  • Setting and operation of CNC machines for the prove out process of new products
  • Manufacturing process planning
  • CNC offline program creation
  • Program storage and management
  • Training and instruction of others in offline programming
  • CNC cutting tool selection and procurement
  • Fixture design and procurement when appropriate
  • Customer liaison on design for manufacture and general technical issues
  • Data control, route cards, drawing control & control plans via NPI system
  • Introduce and progress new products through the shop
Requirements:
  • An apprenticeship or degree in manufacturing, mechanical, or electrical engineering with relevant manufacturing experience
  • Experience and knowledge of CAD/CAM
  • In-depth knowledge of online ISO programming
  • An in-depth knowledge of technical drawings, geometric tolerances, and practices
  • A good understanding of CMM inspection methods
  • Self-motivated and disciplined
