About the Role:

As a Team Leader at The Midcounties Co-operative, you will be responsible for providing support to managers in coaching, guiding, and coordinating the work of the team to complete their tasks. You will also drive the team to increase sales, secure customer loyalty, and attain store targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion excellent customer service
  • Motivate and support the team by leading from the front
  • Delegate tasks fairly
  • Understand how the store is performing against financial targets
  • Have a good understanding of the products we sell and be able to offer guidance to customers
  • Take ownership to ensure that customer complaints are dealt with professionally
  • Be actively involved with community projects and supporting local community groups

Requirements:

  • Be customer-focused and deliver excellent store experiences
  • Have a natural ability to listen, interact, and communicate with customers and team members
  • Be enthusiastic and resilient to support colleagues during demanding times
  • Be flexible to work a range of shifts, ranging from daytimes to evenings and weekends
  • Have confidence and a friendly, approachable nature
  • Some previous supervisory experience is desirable
