We are currently working with a successful manufacturing company based in the UK who require a skilled Manufacturing Fabricator to join their team.

Job Summary

The purpose of this role is to carry out welding and fabrication tasks to engineering specifications within the workshop by employing efficient and effective working practices. The ideal candidate will ensure safety and quality standards are maintained and job specifications comply with client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Weld TIG, MAG processes using gas/oxygen propane heating requirements
  • TIG welding to Penetrant Testing (PT) and Radiographic Testing (RT) standards
  • Weld MMA
  • Perform welding/fabrication, marking off, plasma burning
  • Pipe welding and fit-up
  • Prepare orbitalum pipe for welding
  • Mark off and drilling operations
  • Operate crane equipment safely
  • Load and move materials to work area using approved safe methods
  • Read and interpret engineering data and drawings
  • Maintain high standard of housekeeping and operate safely in line with company Health & Safety policy and risk assessments
  • Maintain machinery and parts to ensure equipment remains in optimal operating condition
  • Clean and inspect tools and equipment regularly
  • Work as part of a team rotating between Dayshift and Nightshift as required
  • Support the wider team and departments in terms of ad-hoc tasks and projects
  • Handle customer information in line with data protection compliance
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Recognised Welding/Fabrication apprenticeship or equivalent experience
  • Operational knowledge of welding & fabrication equipment
  • Able to read and interpret Engineering data and drawings
  • Sufficient and appropriate experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience within a similar environment is essential
