Cold Store Operative Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cold Store Operative to join our team at Cranswick Country Foods PLC in Goole. As a key member of our warehouse team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe receipt, storage, and despatch of frozen goods.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that each vehicle is tipped or loaded as requested and any anomalies are reported immediately to the Supervisor/Charge Hand.
  • Ensure that any movements of pallets are scanned and recorded accurately on the Cold Store Warehouse Management System.
  • Ensure that all procedures are followed, including taking and recording temperatures, and reporting any anomalies immediately.
  • Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safely and efficiently, removing any debris or waste that could be a hazard and being aware of colleagues and/or visitors in the area.
  • Understand the importance of ensuring that all statutory, legal, food safety, and hygiene standards and customer requirements are met and adhered to.
  • Ensure adherence to all standards and processes relating to CCP monitoring, glass, complaints, label verifications, and other paperwork in your department.
  • Understand relevant legislation, internal company policies and procedures, codes of practice, technical specifications, COSHH regulations, and developments in H.A.C.C.P systems relevant to the department.
  • Uphold good housekeeping and hygiene practices to ensure product safety, with particular attention to temperature control and general hygiene.

Requirements:

  • Ped-Op Licence (essential).
  • Ability to correctly use (or learn) scanners, temperature probes, and fobs, pallet inverter, and shrink wrapper.
  • Understand the importance of product and location segregation.
  • React positively to changes in scheduled workload.
