Job Title: Principal Metrology Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Metrology Engineer to join our Instrumentation Calibration Services (ICS) team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring teams, ensuring that their work meets quality, cost, and schedule requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, coach, and mentor teams to ensure they understand systems and protocols associated with work and tasks.
  • Review and approve work of the team to ensure it meets quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Analyse problems related to platform and support system issues and generate proposed solutions to improve operation, efficiency, and performance.
  • Review solutions, including documentation and approved data, and either approve or submit for approval from higher-level authority.
Requirements:
  • CMI L5/HNC/HND or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in Metrology, Calibration, or related field.
  • Experience with apprenticeship standards, developing, and coaching new starters.
  • Ability to apply depth of expertise to resolve complex challenges, issues, and faults associated with engineering systems.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining direct contact and interface with customers and management.
