Prominent Requirements

  1. Develop, manage, and support the infrastructure underpinning platforms, applications, and data that support the business.
  2. Test and examine code written by others, providing approval as part of governance and review processes.
  3. Collaborate with teams (business, architecture, engineers, security, data) to ensure development and delivery follow established processes and work as intended.
  4. Plan projects and be involved in project management decisions.
  5. Making and guiding effective decisions, explaining clearly how the decision has been reached, resolving technical disputes across varying complexity and risk levels.
  6. Communicate effectively across organisational, technical, and political boundaries, simplifying complex information for non-technical audiences.
  7. Exposure of data from systems (e.g., through APIs), linking data from multiple systems, and delivering streaming services.
  8. Adequate understanding and documentation of risks associated with deployment.
  9. Integration of security features in the software development lifecycle.
  10. Implementation of security controls.
  11. Monitoring infrastructure and threat to security.
  12. Ensuring regulatory compliance for standards of security.
  13. Faster deployment of secure software.
  14. Greater visibility into security risks and threats.
  15. Experience working in agile delivery methodologies.
  16. Solid infrastructure design experience for on-prem environments to implement or migrate applications and databases.
  17. Experience with hybrid designs between on-premise and cloud.
  18. Solid experience in a range of technologies, assessing what's best for projects and organisation, suggesting innovative approaches within constrained projects and environments.
  19. Strong experience in software development change/release management processes and technical governance.
  20. Experience of functional and non-functional testing.
  21. Automated deployment of applications, databases, and infrastructure.
  22. Understanding of GDS manual and standards across Discovery/Alpha/Beta/Live phases.
  23. Providing training, support, and mentoring to the wider business.
  24. Knowledge ensuring risks associated with deployment are adequately understood and documented.
  25. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary project team.
  26. Implementing SAST and DAST tooling in deployment pipelines like Trivvy and SonarQube.
  27. On-prem DevOps tooling experience.
