We are seeking an experienced individual to join our Assistive Technology team at Ninewells Hospital, supporting the provision of specialist wheelchairs and seating for patients across Tayside. As a Technical Instructor, you will work collaboratively with our team of therapists to assess and provide equipment, including wheelchairs, specialized seating, and other assistive technologies throughout Tayside.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Providing powered wheelchair training and environmental assessments
• Conducting observational seating assessments
• Traveling throughout Tayside to carry out domiciliary visits in patients' homes and care homes, and supporting outpatient clinics
• Assisting with patient handling using mechanical aids and lifting techniques

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate training and experience in occupational or physical therapy related to providing therapeutic activities and interventions in a health or social care environment. You will also require experience in independently assessing the needs of individuals, including carrying out risk assessments and environmental assessments. Practical knowledge of contemporary wheelchair and seating equipment would be an advantage.

Competency will be demonstrated at interview through evidence of training, practical workplace experience, and formal qualification in a relevant subject. We offer a supportive and collaborative work environment, with opportunities for professional development and growth.
