About the Role:

Cubiq Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Design Lead to join our client's team. As a key member of the Mechanical Engineering team, you will be responsible for leading and developing the team, as well as the product change control team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Mechanical Engineering team, as well as the product change control team.
  • Oversee mechanical design, product updates, and development activities associated with developing and manufacturing electronic/electrical test equipment.
  • Implement and lead the new 3DX/PLM implementation.
  • Ensure remote teams are fully aligned with the UK teams' processes and tools, as well as adhere to the same quality standards.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified, or HND/HNC, in Mechanical and/or Production engineering.
  • Results-focused, adopting a business-led approach to achieve goals and contributing to financial growth.
  • Consistently delivers quality results in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
  • Understanding of relevant aspects of electrical safety (clearance and creepage distances, material groups [CTI / PLC rating] and flammability ratings), and design for EMC compliance.
  • Familiarity with FEA, injection moulding simulation, Stress Analysis and Flow Analysis tools and techniques.
  • Familiarity with PCB design tools (preferably Cadence Allegro) for data transfer between mechanical and PCB CAD systems.
  • Membership of a professional engineering institute.
