Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our Imaging Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing a range of diagnostic radiographic procedures, including CT and MRI scans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess clinical justification of radiography referrals and act as an operator under IRMER
  • Provide expert advice on imaging referrals and patient inquiries
  • Acquire diagnostic images and position patients for a range of presentations
  • Operate advanced software on specialized radiological equipment
  • Participate in the organization and prioritization of departmental workflow
  • Ensure high standards of patient care and professional practice
  • Participate in continuing professional development
  • Review images and collaborate with radiologists to consider supplementary imaging procedures
  • Be familiar with technical applications on imaging equipment
  • Perform intravenous cannulation and manual injection of contrast agent after training and competency
  • Work collaboratively to ensure effective communication and delivery of care
  • Liaise with other departments and external sources for a seamless service
  • Adapt to changes in service, patients, or departmental needs
  • Troubleshoot equipment faults and ensure service provision in case of equipment failure
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills, including allocation of staff due to absence and adequate service provision
Requirements:
  • Diploma of College of Radiographers or BSc Hons
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Certificate of Competence in CT/MRI
  • 2 years post-qualification experience in CT/MRI
  • Current HPC registration
  • Radiation Protection Certificate
  • Evidence of decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and accurately
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Self-motivated and able to motivate others
