We are seeking a highly skilled SOAR Automation Engineer to join our team at Tesco Technology. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automated workflows that will save on human hours, improve consistency, reduce risk, and allow for faster and more effective response.
About the Role:
As a SOAR Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in driving the security automation roadmap based on team feedback and through your own research, testing, and development. You will work across multiple teams with security analysts and engineers to design and develop security automations across the SOAR platform and other security products and tooling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Design and develop security automations and playbooks to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our security operations.
- Platform Maintenance: Maintain the SOAR platform to ensure availability and optimal performance.
- Workflow Improvement: Improve current workflows, automations, and playbooks based on stakeholder feedback.
- Research and Development: Conduct research on potential use cases for security automations and playbooks.
- Championing Security Orchestration: Champion the Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response capability by constant development and delivery of security automations.
Operational Skills:
- Self-Motivation: Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility and Responsiveness: Flexible and responsive to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Communication Skills: Strong written, verbal communication, and presentation skills to all levels of seniority and disciplines within the organisation.
- Teamwork: Ability to build solid working relationships with all levels of seniority and work collaboratively as part of a team.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Cybersecurity Tools and Solutions: Hands-on experience with cybersecurity tools and solutions, ideally SOAR platforms.
- MITRE ATT&CK Framework: Understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK framework (or equivalent) and emerging threat actor tactics, techniques, and procedures.
- Programming Skills: Experience working and developing using Python.
- REST APIs: Understanding of REST APIs and ability to develop and interact with REST API.
- Cloud Experience: Experience working with public cloud.
- Operating Systems: Experience and working knowledge with operating systems – both Linux and Windows platforms.
