Job Overview

This role is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a site, ensuring that all facilities and equipment are maintained to a high standard. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of site systems and processes, as well as excellent communication and administrative skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain site facilities and equipment, including plant and equipment, to ensure they are in good working order.
  • Support the progression of Health & Safety compliance by participating in audits, risk management, training, and reporting.
  • Drive improvements in sustainability compliance and implement and monitor minor FM works.
  • Manage the building's plant and equipment, maintaining accurate records of all compliance and contract monitoring for audit and compliance needs.
  • Take responsibility for building management systems and produce utilisation and other reports for the FM to improve effective use of resources.
  • Assist with the setting and controlling of budgets, monitoring spend on tracking systems, and raise purchase orders for works in a timely manner.
  • Assist with recruitment and training of staff for the facilities function and provide administrative support to the Facilities team.
  • Coordinate all contractor management and KPI reporting, and progress resolutions of Health & Safety issues.
  • Provide an out-of-hours emergency response and manage and support works that are outside core site hours.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Ability to work as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Good communication and administrative skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload while maintaining a flexible approach to work.
  • Flexibility with working hours as required.
  • Hold a CIOB or level 4 site maintenance qualification or possess detailed working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Proven experience of driving quality improvement and management of contractors to maintain control and minimise costs.
  • Proven skills, knowledge, and experience to solve day-to-day issues that occur on a production environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills, capable of communicating at all levels.
  • Effective PC skills - proficient in Microsoft Word, MS Project, Excel.
