Band 5 Dietitian

As a Band 5 Rotational Dietitian at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust, you will gain experience in various settings across our hospital sites. This role provides a unique opportunity to work in different departments, developing your skills and expertise in providing dietetic services to adults and paediatrics.
Main ResponsibilitiesClinical Duties
- Provide dietetic advice to patients, carers, and staff, working autonomously within agreed protocols and guidelines.
- Carry out nutritional assessments, developing treatment plans, and prescribing dietary treatments as necessary.
- Facilitate group sessions to support patient knowledge and behaviour change.
Training and Education
- Participate in the clinical supervision of student dietitians, undertaking tutorials and planning timetables.
- Deliver nutrition education and training to nurses, support workers, catering, and medical staff as required.
Professional Development
- Stay up-to-date with developments in dietetics, participating in training and development activities.
- Contribute to departmental clinical supervision groups, evaluating practice through peer review.
- Participate in the preparation and update of dietary information and resources.
- Support and participate in dietetic staff meetings, sharing knowledge and improving service delivery.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the profile of the Dietetic profession.
