About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Foreperson to join our team at Pin Point Recruitment. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of our facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the control of the workforce, setting targets and ensuring efficient allocation of tasks.
  • Complete necessary documentation and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Provide effective leadership and guidance to team members, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Ensure depot housekeeping, including vans and plant, is maintained to a high standard.
  • Ensure works are completed on-time and to specification, exceeding customer expectations.
  • Act as an effective assistant to the Supervisor and Contracts Manager, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Understand and work to contract documentation, including specifications and billing systems.
  • Develop, delegate, and monitor team members, promoting growth and development.
Main Tasks
  • Supervise teams of employees/sub-contractors on a daily basis, identifying workloads and allocating tasks, ensuring work standards are maintained, areas are left secure, and barriers/gates are locked.
  • Responsible for the quality of service within your area of operation, ensuring high standards are met.
  • Perform tasks such as grass cutting, raking, and edging, weeding, sweeping, litter picking, and leaf collection.
  • Assist with horticultural operations, including planting, pruning, and maintenance of trees, shrubs, and other gardening tasks as required.
  • Apply chemicals as necessary.

  • Profitable and effective management of contracts, ensuring tendered margins are delivered.
  • Championing and representation of company philosophies and values in relation to all stakeholders.
  • Effective deployment of company Health and Safety procedures.
  • Effective communication of significant issues to Senior Contracts Manager as needed.
  • Creation of a positive impression with customers, exceeding their expectations, and presenting a polite and responsible attitude at all times.
  • Communication with customers, politely and professionally, and accurate reporting of customer comments to managers.
  • Understanding of company operations, promotion of the company, and feedback of potential leads from sites and local press.
  • Wearing of correct corporate clothing and ensuring vehicles and machinery are professionally presented, and sites are kept clean and tidy.
  • Efficiency and organization, working to company systems, such as timesheets, works control tick sheets, rotas, absence request forms, etc., to ensure contractual performance obligations are met.
  • Reading, understanding, and working to the company's Health & Safety Policy, using correct PPE, and ensuring plant/equipment is used safely and only after suitable training has been given.
  • Understanding and working to risk assessments and COSHH assessments, and reporting accidents and near misses.
  • Reliability in attendance at work and following company rules and procedures if absent from work for any reason.
  • Efficiency and organization, working to company systems, such as job sheets, quality completion sheets, time sheets, and invoices.
  • Acting to help the company control costs and avoid wastage wherever possible.
  • Knowledge of the correct machine for the job and understanding of the maintenance requirements of machinery, ensuring appropriate checks and records are kept.
  • Utilization of best, most economic, and effective work practices, taking responsibility as part of the team for delivering a quality service, and showing initiative and making suggestions for improvements that may lead to increased productivity.
  • Rigorous concern for the security of company buildings, vehicles, machinery, and materials.
