As a fast-paced and innovative global company, we are seeking a motivated Supplier Performance Engineer to join our team.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for continuously measuring, analyzing, and improving supplier performance, while managing risks and crises, to enhance the overall supply chain efficiency. This role will primarily work on-site at OrganOx Oxford Manufacturing Centre, with frequent travel to supplier locations both within and outside the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and report on critical vendor performance
- Develop and deploy performance metrics and standards
- Identify performance gaps, root causes, and implement action plans
- Establish a calendar and lead monthly supplier performance reviews
- Manage improvement plans and performance recovery plans
- Review and adjust performance metrics and maintain data accuracy
- Communicate performance metrics and dashboards to stakeholders
- Escalate critical or blocking points to management
Improving Supplier Performance and Process:
- Review and refine supplier performance metrics for appropriateness and opportunities
- Manage supplier continuous improvement actions plans
- Lead supplier assessments and coordinate cross-functional teams
- Identify and document best practices from suppliers
- Deploy supplier logistic agreements and structure supplier development plans
- Participate in supplier selection processes for new products and capacity expansion
Crisis and Risk Management:
- Support supplier crisis management and follow up on action plans to mitigate risks
- Manage hyper-care resolution plans and drive swift resolution
Requirements:
- Good practical skills and experience in supply chain management and supplier engagement
- Experience: 5-10 years in supply chain, in an industrial company
- Knowledge of continuous improvement processes and tools
- Leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- SAP: able to navigate and understand basic reporting extracts
- Technical culture is a plus
- Frequent travel to supplier locations, both within and outside the UK
Qualifications:
- Diploma: Master or Engineer degree in supply chain or technical or similar demonstrable experience working in supply chain in equivalent roles
