About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Child Development Officer to join our team at East Renfrewshire Council.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about providing high-quality childcare and education services to young children and their families in our community.

The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting staff and maintaining a standard of service that integrates quality childcare practice and early education.

Key Responsibilities

  • SUPPORTING STAFF: Provide guidance and support to staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality childcare and education services.
  • CHILD DEVELOPMENT: Work with children, parents, and carers to promote healthy child development and provide support where needed.
  • PROGRAMME DEVELOPMENT: Develop and implement programmes that meet the needs of children and families in our community.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of HNC Childhood Practice at SCQF Level 7 or equivalent qualification recognised by SSSC.
  • Experience working with children with additional support needs would be desirable.
  • Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £25,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits including pension scheme, annual leave, and training opportunities.
