Job Title: Violence Prevention Advisor

International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Violence Prevention Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our Violence Prevention and Response Unit, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing strategies to prevent violence against women, girls, boys, and men in all its forms.

About the Role

The Violence Prevention Advisor will lead our strategic work on violence prevention, focusing on prevention of violence against women and girls, children, and other at-risk groups. You will work closely with our Global Practice Leads for Child Protection, Women's Protection and Empowerment, and Protection Rule of Law to develop and implement prevention programs that address the root causes of violence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement prevention strategies that address the root causes of violence against women and girls, children, and other at-risk groups.
  • Lead the development of business opportunities on violence prevention to support IRC's Prevention strategy.
  • Collaborate with our country program teams and local actors to create and capture innovations in protection programming.
  • Represent IRC in external meetings and coordination fora, with a focus on violence prevention.
Requirements
  • Established or growing recognition as an expert in violence prevention programming, with a minimum of 6-8 years of progressive experience.
  • Experience and knowledge of programming to address co-occurrence of violence in the home.
  • Strong track record of scaled innovations, ideally including experience working on both digital and analog solutions.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and storytelling skills.
  • Ability to work, manage, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
