About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist/HCA to join our team at Corfe Castle Surgery. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality phlebotomy services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform venepuncture to obtain blood samples
  • Ensure accurate labelling of samples and confirmation of patient identity
  • Record collection of blood samples in patient records
  • Dispatch samples to laboratories in a timely manner
  • ECG recording and BP recording
  • Dressing of wounds under the direction of the Practice Nurse
  • Chaperoning duties
  • Sterilising, cleansing and maintenance of surgical equipment
  • Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
  • Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation
  • Emergency equipment and medication vaccine re-stocking and checking
  • Managing clinical waste
  • Re-stocking consulting rooms

About Us

Corfe Castle Surgery is a rural dispensing practice with approximately 3110 patients. We have a lead GP and three salaried GPs, a practice manager, two practice nurses, a phlebotomist, three dispensers and five admin staff.

We are rated 'Outstanding' with CQC and excellent patient care is important to the whole team.
