About the RoleWe're seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Embedded to contribute to our embedded UI development, algorithm implementation, and underlying architecture. You'll work closely with product management to understand new features and extend current features for international market needs. You'll develop using modern C++ libraries/frameworks, scripting language, and integrate third-party code.
Responsibilities- Create C++ and Embedded Linux and Native Applications.
- Develop UI applications using popular frameworks such as JavaScript, BrightScript, and similar languages.
- Work closely with Cross Functional teams to contribute to our application development.
- Develop core features for the Roku OS Application framework.
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve issues.
- Write functional and integration tests.
- Design and ship high-quality software on the Roku embedded platform.
- 5+ years of relevant software development experience.
- Experience with Python, JavaScript, BrightScript, or similar languages.
- In-depth understanding of Linux, tools, libraries, and open source development.
- Good understanding of Core OS concepts like memory management and multi-threading.
- A good understanding of API design, considerations, and trade-offs.
- Consumer electronics experience building Media/Content and/or Ad products.
- Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or related fields.
