Band 5 Occupational Therapist Opportunity
Are you a passionate Occupational Therapist with a desire to work with adults facing complex needs? We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our dynamic Inpatient Acute Therapy team at Royal Bournemouth Hospital.
This unique role offers the chance to develop specialized skills within vascular services, including post-amputation care. You'll be part of a collaborative therapy team providing comprehensive support across various medical specialties, such as cardiology, hematology, surgery, critical care, and front door services.
As part of this position, you will gain valuable experience working with patients throughout their entire journey, from emergency admission to successful transition home. This includes opportunities for weekend work, allowing you to contribute to a comprehensive patient-centered approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to patients with diverse acute presentations.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Conduct thorough assessments, set realistic goals, and monitor patient progress using outcome measures.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and adapt to changing clinical situations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of interventions and patient outcomes.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Proven clinical experience in acute hospital or community settings, including orthopedics and neurology.
- Demonstrated ability to assess, manage, and treat patients effectively and independently.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with patients following amputation or vascular surgeries.
- Wheelchair Accreditation.
