Consultant Psychiatrist for General Adult Mental Health

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Psychiatrist for General Adult Mental Health, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise to our multidisciplinary team, working closely with GPs, primary care staff, and patients to deliver high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advice and support to GPs and primary care staff on the assessment and management of mental health difficulties
- Conduct clinical assessments and provide follow-up care as needed
- Assist in the prioritization of new referrals and maintain effective communication with GPs, primary care staff, and patients
- Work flexibly within timetabled working hours to prioritize urgent clinical matters
- Participate in management activities and governance processes related to the Practice-Based Mental Health service
Requirements
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a license to practice
- Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent higher qualification in psychiatry
- Section 12(2) and Approved Clinician status (or eligibility)
- Registered with the Royal College of Psychiatrists CPD programme and in good standing
