Job Summary:

The Finance Business Partner will be responsible for providing financial management and accounting services to our Connected Cities business unit. This will involve producing timely and accurate financial reports, monitoring operational expenses, and recommending efficiencies where possible.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce monthly management accounts packs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Monitor and track operational expenses, identifying areas for cost savings and recommending improvements.
  • Prepare and post monthly journals, including accruals and prepayments.
  • Perform forecasts, budget preparation, and variance analysis to support business decision-making.
  • Support operational management with detailed contract reviews, including cost analysis.
  • Oversee the preparation and consolidation of schedules for year-end audit purposes.
  • Ensure invoices are raised in accordance with contracts and company policies.
  • Manage debt collection, WIP recovery, and review of BIA.
  • Oversee rolling cash flow reporting and evaluation.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in operational management accounts.
  • Ability to evaluate complex data and possess sound problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively multitask and work unsupervised.
  • Strong Excel knowledge.
  • Willingness to travel to multiple sites to support operational teams.
  • Ideal CIMA or ACCA part-qualified (or working towards).
