About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistive Technology Specialist to join our team at Capita. As an Assistive Technology Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying and recommending assistive technology solutions to support individuals with disabilities in their academic pursuits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Holding Structured Meetings
    • Evaluate and identify suitable study and support strategies for individuals, including Non-Medical Helper (NMH) and travel support.
    • Recommend and provide advice on appropriate hardware, software, and assistive technology.
  • Preparing Study Needs Assessment Reports
    • Prepare and produce study needs assessment reports for students in Higher Education who are in receipt of Disabled Students' Allowances (DSA's).
  • Assistive Technology Training
    • Deliver high-quality, relevant, AT Training to meet customer needs.

Requirements

  • Excellent Communication Skills
    • Excellent report writing abilities and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of DSA Funding Guidance
    • Extensive knowledge of the DSA funding guidance.
  • Assistive Technology Expertise
    • An in-depth understanding and current knowledge of a range of relevant assistive technology (software and hardware) and its role in addressing challenges across a broad range of disabilities.
  • Teamwork and Problem-Solving
    • Adept at working to strict KPIs and producing work of excellent quality.
    • While the role involves independent/lone working, we are seeking team players keen to work collaboratively with colleagues to do the best for our customers.
