Job Title: Engineering Delivery Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Delivery Manager to join our team at Thales. As an Engineering Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for leading high-performing engineering teams to deliver engineering solutions that meet customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead high-performing engineering teams to generate engineering solutions that meet customer needs
  • Define the engineering delivery strategy and resource profile based on engineering estimates to ensure delivery of the project
  • Manage interfaces with the overall delivery strategy for the wider programme
  • Work with the Programme Manager to define the organisation and work breakdown required to deliver to customer needs
  • Define the engineering team's work packages in terms of resources required, budgets assigned to each task, risks and assumptions on these and the timescales to deliver within
  • Plan and prioritise activities required to deliver the solution to the contract schedule, costs and quality
  • Day-to-day management of the engineering team's activities ensuring proactive management of issues, opportunities and risks
  • Manage and report on the engineering efficiency for the project
  • Identify re-use opportunities across the project
  • Act as the People Manager for the engineering team on the project and provide feedback into the people manager reviews with the functional discipline leads

Requirements:

  • Strong background in engineering with experience in successfully defining and leading the delivery of multi-disciplinary engineering projects
  • Highly customer-focused with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving environment with multiple parallel objectives
  • Knowledge and experience of naval products would be beneficial to this role

Security Clearance:

This role will require SC Clearance. It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant will undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance.
