About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Security and Governance Expert to join our team at Interface Recruitment UK. In this role, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on IT security across our multi-region infrastructure with over 6,100 staff and 90+ sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and enhance the Cyber Essentials Plus Security Standard, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Assist and report on security management technical aspects, providing critical insights to inform decision-making.
  • Participate in governance activities related to Information Security, driving initiatives that support the organization's goals.
  • Propose policy and procedure changes to improve efficiency and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate information asset inventories, identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Identify security non-conformities and design, enhance, and manage security procedures to address these issues.
  • Coordinate security control implementation to support defined security policies, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Liaise with teams to manage security, contractual, and regulatory requirements, fostering collaboration and effective communication.
  • Provide feedback to the Information Security Manager on the security program and security projects addressing identified risks and business security requirements.

  • Develop and deliver security communication, awareness, and training programs for various audiences, promoting a culture of security within the organization.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify information asset owners, classify data and systems, and implement control frameworks.
  • Consult with IT and security staff to factor security into hardware, applications, and software evaluations, selections, installations, and configurations.
  • Support the design and testing of new or updated information security hardware or software, analyzing its impact on the existing environment.
  • Manage security projects and provide expert guidance on security matters for other IT projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Perform daily threat intelligence checks, staying up-to-date with emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
Requirements:
  • Candidates must have comprehensive experience in a security or risk management role, with in-depth knowledge of enterprise information security principles.
  • A strong understanding of relevant standards, including Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001, 27002, Data Protection Act, and the General Data Protection Regulation, is essential.
  • Experience in formal document creation, including security policies, reports, and procedures, is highly desirable.
  • Candidates should also have experience in carrying out risk reviews, technology audits, or similar work, with a proven track record of identifying and mitigating risks.
