Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Junior Geomaterials Scientist to join our team. As a key member of our Geomaterials and Mineralogy teams, you will assist in providing petrological and mineralogical consultancy projects to clients in the minerals, mining, and construction materials industries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare sections and polished blocks from geological and construction materials for microscopic analysis.
  • Conduct routine mineralogical and petrographic tests.
  • Record and prepare samples for testing and operate scientific instrumentation and software.
  • Develop skills in macroscopic identification and application of geological knowledge to different materials.
Requirements:
  • Graduate geologist, earth scientist, or materials scientist with a degree in a relevant geological or engineering discipline.
  • Experience in optical microscopy of basic sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rocks.
  • Skills in concrete petrography, with training provided on the job.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced commercial consultancy delivering multiple projects to defined timescales.
