Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Fire Safety Compliance Specialist to join our team at Great Places Housing Association. The successful candidate will have a strong background in fire safety and compliance, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders.

About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time position that requires a high level of expertise in fire safety matters, including fire doors, fire detection & alarms, and sprinkler systems. The ideal candidate will have a Nebosh Fire Certificate or equivalent, as well as a Level 4 award in Asset and Building Management Compliance. A strong understanding of British Standards and the Fire Safety Order is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage projects related to fire safety and compliance, ensuring full compliance with relevant regulations and legislation.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to identify areas of concern and provide informed recommendations for improvement.
  • Work closely with the Strategic Fire Manager and the Building Safety team to ensure effective management and coordination of Customer Safety maintenance.
  • Support the development of policies and procedures related to fire safety and compliance.
Requirements
  • Nebosh Fire Certificate or equivalent.
  • Level 4 award in Asset and Building Management Compliance (or willingness to work towards it).
  • Technical knowledge of operation and testing of emergency lighting, fire detection systems, and AOVs.
  • Excellent understanding of building safety and compliance.
  • Understanding of fire and building safety legislation.
  • Effective liaison with stakeholders and good communication abilities.
  • Good IT abilities, especially Microsoft Office.
