Project Engineer for Engineering Assets

Bennett and Game Recruitment is seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join our team in Bedford, UK. As a Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Senior Project Manager and project team in the successful execution of projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee site survey investigations to ensure accurate project requirements.
  • Coordinate, review, and distribute survey reports to stakeholders.
  • Attend HAZOP, ALM, HAZCON, and HAZCOM meetings to assist the Project Manager in ensuring project compliance.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and identify potential risks.
  • Aid the Project Manager in site setup and enabling, including water and electric connections.

As a Project Engineer, you will also be responsible for assisting in the preparation of H&S documentation, including:

  • Construction Phase Plans
  • Traffic Management Plans
  • Site H&S files
  • Permits to Work
  • Compliance with HASWA and CDM regulations
  • Maintaining and updating all project records within the project files.
  • Supporting the Project Manager in creating Impact Plans.
  • Inspection Test Plans
  • Materials in Contact proforma
  • Capitalisation Plan (in collaboration with the commissioning engineer)
  • Assisting with the snagging process.
  • Supporting the commissioning engineer with commissioning plans and documentation.
  • Compiling the H&S file upon project completion.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a mechanical engineering/workshop environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a strategic approach to managing national and local suppliers.
  • Responsible for purchasing within agreed limits as directed by Project Managers and the Senior Management Team.
