Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced virologist to join our mammalian virology group as a senior scientist. The successful candidate will lead scientific research into the interaction of viral pathogens in mammalian livestock, oversee teams and projects, and ensure targets are met to appropriate quality, safety, and budgetary constraints.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting scientific research into the interaction of viral pathogens in mammalian livestock
  • Overseeing teams and projects to ensure targets are met
  • Providing expertise across the group, including developing and mentoring junior team members
  • Publishing in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and presenting work on the national and international stage

Requirements

  • Established researcher with a track record in virology and an understanding of pathogenesis
  • Ability to develop and mentor junior team members
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
