Role Summary

We are seeking a talented Junior Designer to join our Accessories design team at FatFace, based at our head office in Havant. As a key member of our design team, you will work closely with the buyer and Senior Designer to produce product that delivers key trends of the season, shapes the range for our customers, and aligns with our brand DNA and ethos.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and interpret trends to design printed softs and cold weather accessories ranges across Women's and Men's.
  • Drive newness and keep on top of relevant current and future trends, sharing ideas and inspirational references with the team.
  • Create design packs to achieve high-quality first samples within critical path timing.
  • Conduct market research to identify the latest trends and maintain a strong commercial awareness of key competitors.
  • Review the range with the buyer to ensure choice and newness is offered, and potentialize on best sellers and identify missed opportunities.
  • Design and product develop ranges with the Buyer based on sales and trend information.
  • Liaise with suppliers on product, design detail, and fabrics.
  • Present ranges to the team and Senior team each season, ensuring you present your product vision for your area, identify key trends, and back styles you feel strongly for.
Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent in Fashion-based subject.
  • 3 years+ Experience at Assistant/Junior Designer level.
  • Presentation Skills.
  • Ability to communicate with externals and Senior Management.
  • Good research skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
Competencies
  • Strong eye for trends and understanding of the FatFace brand.
  • Be organized, a self-starter, and able to prioritize own workload.
  • Fantastic knowledge of fabrics, yarns, stitches, and trims, with a keen eye for details.
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Indesign, and Illustrator).
  • Ability to convey designs from paper to 3D design.
  • Good Knowledge of Factory processes and be able to articulate yourself clearly and confidently when communicating with suppliers.
  • Creative and able to convey vision of FatFace Brand.
  • Comprehensive understanding of customer profile, product range, and competitors.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of trends within the marketplace.
  • Be resilient in working at pace, adapting to change, and open to constructive feedback.
