Expert Ophthalmology Surgeon

About the Role

Practice Plus Group is seeking an experienced Consultant in Ophthalmology to join our multi-disciplinary medical team at our Ilford hospital.

We are looking for a UK registered medical professional, listed on the Specialist GMC register, with expertise in high-volume phacoemulsification under topical anaesthesia and other ophthalmic procedures.

This role offers a competitive salary of up to £150,000 per annum, based on experience, as well as a performance-related incentive scheme, comprehensive wellbeing benefits, and flexible shifts that enable you to work around other commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform a range of ophthalmology procedures on referred patients, working in accordance with existing protocols and working practices.
• Demonstrate a high level of operative skill in areas such as high-volume phacoemulsification under topical anaesthesia, oculoplastic surgery, and medical retina.
• Participate in outpatient assessments and all aspects of operative care for patients.

What We Look For:

• A minimum of 3 days spent in the operating theatre and 2 days a week in outpatient assessment and operative care.
• Experience in high-volume cataract surgery and other ophthalmic procedures.
• The ability to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of problems within ophthalmology.
