About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk and Compliance Solicitor to join our team in Cardiff. As a Risk and Compliance Solicitor, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the firm's Risk and Compliance function, implementing and developing policies and procedures across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the firm's Risk and Compliance function, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate risk and ensure compliance across the business.
  • Advise on compliance and regulatory matters to staff and partners, fostering a culture of compliance throughout the firm.
  • Work closely with the Director of Risk and Compliance to instill a culture of compliance across the firm, ensuring all staff understand their responsibilities.
  • Act as the point of escalation for compliance and risk queries, providing guidance and support to staff.
  • Develop clear policies, training materials, and conduct audits to assess compliance levels across the firm.
  • Manage the compliance policy portfolio, ensuring regular reviews and training to staff.
  • Maintain compliance-related standards, including Lexcel accreditation and external audits.
  • Assist in developing performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Requirements:

  • Qualified as a Solicitor in England and Wales.
  • Strong understanding of regulations, SRA standards, and regulations, anti-money laundering.
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills.
  • Prior experience working within a law firm as a Risk and Compliance Solicitor.
