Food Technology Support Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Food Technology Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Chessington.
This full-time position involves supporting Food Technology classes and other curriculum needs in Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Post-16.
- Support teachers in the Food Technology classroom to ensure a safe and engaging learning environment.
- Assist students as they learn cooking skills, food hygiene, and safety practices.
- Collaborate with teachers and the well-being team to support each student's academic, social, and emotional development.
Requirements
- Must hold an enhanced DBS certificate for both child and adult workforce (on the update service or be willing to obtain one).
- A background in Food Technology or catering is essential.
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN is highly desirable.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and a proactive approach in a dynamic school environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
