We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Nicholas Associates Construction. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in controlling costs, managing projects, and ensuring the successful delivery of our groundworks and civil engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities- Control costs of groundworks projects to ensure they are running efficiently, effectively, profitably, and safely.
- Measure all site works accurately and provide early cost advice to clients on variations.
- Identify commercial risks and provide appropriate solutions or responses.
- Undertake cost analysis working with company buyers and advise on procurement and cost control.
- Produce a range of cost value reports and value completed work to ensure timely payments.
- Understand the importance of cash flow and timely payments, including retention payments.
- Build strong relationships with client staff and company production staff.
- Allocate work to sub-contractors, including assistance with procurement when required.
- Assist with the development of any assistants or trainees.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor.
- Experience of working for a residential groundworks sub-contractor.
- Knowledge of contractual terms within groundworks.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly and efficiently.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Team player.
- Ability to establish and build positive relationships.
