Procurement Terminal Cost Controller

Our client, a leading Shipping Line based in London, is seeking an experienced Procurement Terminal Cost Controller to join their team. This is a hybrid position that will work 2 days from home. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Supply Chain or Logistics and a minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement and operations within the Maritime Shipping or Logistics industry, with a preference for experience across multiple European regions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and communicate progress and KPI maintenance to stakeholders during the procurement process.
  • Assist with the implementation of new developments, such as new Transhipment Ports, new services, new routes, or new third-party agents.
  • Support the Procurement Coordinator and update the vendor database as needed.
  • Provide data for Terminal and Port Services Tender Management.
Contract and Tariff Management:
  • Maintain all Terminal and Port Services vendor tariff costs within operational systems, including third-party agents.
  • Assist in studies related to contract or tariff enhancements upon request.
  • Execute effective administrative billing and invoice query resolution.
Maintenance of Internal Company Systems:
  • Monitor the correctness and validity of data to enable front-line pricing in the most cost-effective way.
  • Follow up on query lists related to cost tariffs with the local Operations Team and adjust their systems accordingly.
  • Prepare and assist the Manager Terminal and Port Services with Audits.
  • Archive vendor-related data agreements in line with procurement policies and audit duties.

The successful candidate will be analytical and methodical, with a detailed orientation and heavy focus on numbers and Excel spreadsheets. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
