We are seeking a dedicated and caring individual to join our Ancillary Staff Team as a Kitchen Assistant in our residential care home for older people in Tunbridge Wells.
The successful candidate will assist our Catering Team in upholding our commitment to providing healthy, nutritious, and tasty meals that cater to the lifestyle and dietary needs of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the preparation, cooking, and serving of nutritionally balanced and attractive meals with due regard to resident preferences and special dietary needs.
- Observe and maintain high standards of food hygiene regulations.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic working environment, including tidy communal areas, washing, drying, and storing all crockery, cutlery, and utensils.
- Maintain the kitchen, catering equipment, and food storage rooms in a high state of cleanliness and tidiness.
- Maintain all records and control stock rotation when on duty.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team and be willing to take on any task within your capabilities to provide an excellent service to our residents.
- Attend meetings and training activities as required.
- You should be someone who enjoys working with older people and can demonstrate empathy and understanding of their needs.
- You must be able to cook and prepare food to a good standard and have a basic food hygiene certificate.
- You should be a well-organised, practical, and adaptable person who can work effectively in a team environment.
Shift pattern: Friday and Saturday afternoons
Hours: 12 hours per week
