Job Title: HGV Driver - Class 1 Night Shift

About the Role:

We are seeking a reliable and experienced HGV Class 1 driver to join our team at Burton's Biscuits. As a Class 1 HGV driver, you will be responsible for delivering stock from our bakeries to our distribution sites and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering stock from our bakeries to our distribution sites and customers
  • Accurately recording daily runs on a driver's deployment sheet
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of the company tractor unit and reporting any defects
  • Reporting any damages of stock and discrepancies
  • Checking the fleet before use and reporting any issues
  • Communicating with team members, bakery sites, and 3rd party sites
  • Building strong relationships with team members, managers, and other stakeholders
  • Working extra hours if required and completing daily runs where legally possible
  • Handing in paperwork at the end of shift and fuelling up the tractor unit

Requirements:

  • Clean HGV Class 1 driving licence with at least 2 years' experience
  • Experience of using/pulling DD trailers is preferred but not essential
  • Up to date drivers CPC
  • Able to plan routes to avoid road closures, road works, and low bridges
  • Reliable with a great attendance record
  • Safe driving practices and health & safety awareness
  • Understanding of WTD regulations for drivers
  • Punctual
  • Self-motivated
  • Great communication skills
  • Team player
