Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Disability North. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality person-centred support to our son, who has complex learning difficulties and health needs.

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you will work as part of a team to provide 2:1 support to our son, enabling him to live independently within our family home. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with daily living tasks, such as personal care and medication management
  • Supporting our son to access leisure activities and engage in social interactions
  • Monitoring and maintaining his health care needs, including PEG feeding and nocturnal non-invasive ventilation
  • Providing a safe and supportive environment, promoting his independence and well-being

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience of working with individuals with complex learning difficulties and health needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and provide 2:1 support
  • Patience, empathy, and a caring attitude

Desirable Skills

A driving licence and the ability to drive an automatic wheelchair-accessible vehicle (WAV) is desirable for most shifts.
