About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Land Acquisition Specialist to join our team at McLaren Resourcing. As a key member of our project development team, you will be responsible for identifying and acquiring land for solar and battery energy development projects in the North of England.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Land Acquisition: Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify potential land acquisition opportunities, and negotiate leases with landowners to secure sites for solar and battery projects.
  • Site Assessment and Feasibility Studies: Prepare initial proposals for solar or battery projects, including site assessments and feasibility studies, to ensure a thorough understanding of the project's viability.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with internal teams, including project development, engineering, and finance, as well as external stakeholders, such as landowners, local authorities, and community groups.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Work closely with our legal team to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and laws, including planning constraints, environmental regulations, and land use planning.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless land acquisition and project development, from initial proposal to project completion.

Requirements:

  • Proven Experience: Proven experience in sales, land acquisition, real estate, or farming, with a strong track record of successful land leasing negotiations.
  • Negotiation and Relationship-Building Skills: Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with landowners, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Technical Competence: Strong technical competence to prepare initial proposals for solar or battery projects, including site assessments and feasibility studies.
  • IT Skills: Excellent IT skills, including CRM tool use, workflow process, and expenses software.
  • Valid Driver's License: A valid driver's license and ability to drive a company vehicle to target areas.
  • UK Residency: Able to work in the UK on a long-term basis without sponsorship.

Desirable Candidate Characteristics:

  • Farming or Agriculture Knowledge: Strong understanding of farming or agriculture, including subsidies, farm operating costs, and an existing knowledge base of local landowners.
  • Solar and Battery Development Experience: Previous experience in solar and battery development projects, including site assessment and feasibility studies.
  • Marketing Communications and Copy Writing: Experience in marketing communications and copy writing, with the ability to create compelling proposals and reports.
  • CRM Reporting Experience: CRM reporting experience, with the ability to analyze data and provide insights to inform business decisions.
