Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from £48,080 to £72,120 per annum, plus benefits such as 26 days holiday per year (increasing to 30 with length of service), contributory pension, and wider benefits scheme.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our water industry team as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer. You will be responsible for leading complex engineering processes, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with design codes.

The successful candidate will have expertise in mechanical engineering, pumps, pipe systems, sludge, gas/CHP systems, or water/wastewater treatment process equipment. Additionally, they will understand the regulatory environment and possess excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and lead complex engineering processes in the water and wastewater industry.
  2. Support multidisciplinary teams in developing solutions to engineering challenges for operational plants.
  3. Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams for mechanically biased projects.
  4. Undertake equipment failure root cause analysis investigations to establish failure methods and reduce future occurrences.
  5. Provide technical input into project definition briefs and asset surveys.
  6. Ensure compliance with engineering-based regulatory requirements.
  7. Support testing and development of new technologies for implementation in research projects.
  8. Develop new tools to enhance the Engineering team's capabilities.

A hybrid working arrangement is offered, requiring you to work in the office and on-site 2-3 days a week, with a 36-hour workweek from Monday to Friday. A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are also necessary for this role.
