Job Title

We are seeking dedicated professionals to specialise in autism assessments for children and adolescents aged 5-18.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have expertise and confidence in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and/or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) assessments for children and young people, with a commitment to delivering clinical excellence.

  • Conduct comprehensive developmental histories using preferred methods/tools to evaluate children undergoing autism assessments.
  • Observe the child/young person during sessions and ask questions in an age-appropriate and compassionate manner.
  • Review ADOS reports, developmental history, and relevant collateral information from home and school.
  • Formulate a diagnosis and provide feedback to the family in a kind, age-appropriate, and compassionate manner, including recommendations and signposting to local/national resources.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) in cases where further information is required.
  • Produce high-quality, detailed diagnostic reports within 48 hours post-assessment, adhering to DSM-5 criteria and report templates.

Clinic Information:

  • Up to four appointments per day, paid on a competitive per assessment tariff.
  • Remote assessments available for clinicians based in and around Manchester.
  • Flexible working days available Monday to Sunday, accommodating your schedule.

Requirements:

  • GMC-registered doctor with a valid license to practice.
  • CCT in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry preferred, but not essential.
  • Expertise in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and/or ADHD assessments for children and young people.
  • Revalidation and appraisal processes up-to-date.
