About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Nuclear Power Engineer to join our team at Holtec International. As a Nuclear Power Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing safety and non-safety related electrical systems for our SMR-160 nuclear reactor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop system function and design requirement specifications
  • Design one-line/three-line diagrams
  • Licensing requirements for electrical systems
  • Component specifications for individual system components
  • Interact with vendors to obtain vendor input/design confirmation of various components
  • Perform and support vendor selection and vetting process
  • Work with other work groups to provide electrical design support
  • Oversee any electrical work performed by other organizations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university
  • 0-5 years of experience in power (nuclear, fossil, etc.) electrical system design
  • Demonstrated technical writing skills and effective communication skills
  • Demonstrated good judgment, ability to act independently, flexibility, adaptability, and leadership skills
  • Ability to plan and organize work tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong inter-personal skills; effective in a team environment
  • Eligible to work in accord with Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810

Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, based on experience
